PM pledges support for July martyrs injured

B Mirror Report: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Saturday pledged to ensure proper recognition, rehabilitation and long-term support for the families of those killed and injured during the July Mass Uprising.

Addressing the July National Conference at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Dhaka, the prime minister said the government is committed to preserving the legacy of the July martyrs and improving the quality of life of their families and injured protesters.

He reiterated that those responsible for the killings during the uprising would be brought to justice through due legal process, stressing that justice must be fair and impartial.

Calling for national unity, Tarique Rahman said the achievements of the July movement belong to all democracy-loving citizens, not any individual or political party. He acknowledged the sacrifices of the victims’ families, saying their losses could never be fully compensated.

The conference, jointly organised by the July ’24 Martyrs’ Families Society and Amra July Joddha, was attended by families of the martyrs, injured protesters, diplomats, senior officials and political leaders. The prime minister presented commemorative plaques to representatives of martyrs’ families and injured participants.
