The Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC (DSE) has approved a proposal to change the name of the listed insurance sector company Phoenix Insurance Company Limited.

According to the DSE, the company’s new name will be “Phoenix Insurance PLC.” Previously, the company was known as “Phoenix Insurance Company Limited.” The new name will come into effect from 22 December 2025.
It is noteworthy that apart from the change in name, all other company-related information will remain unchanged. This means that the company’s trading code, category, and all other business and financial information in the stock market will continue as before. The name change process has been completed in accordance with the DSE’s listing regulations.
Primarily, under the amended Companies Act, public limited companies are required to include “PLC” at the end of their names. In line with this requirement, Phoenix Insurance has completed the legal process of changing its name.
