Imran, Jhenaidah Correspondent: A human chain event took place in Jhenaidah, advocating for the inclusion of 5th grade students from kindergartens and similar educational institutions in the government primary scholarship examination
This initiative was organized by the Bangladesh Kindergarten Unity Council (BKUP) at the Post Office intersection in the city on Wednesday morning.
Students, teachers, and guardians from various regions of Jala participated in the event, carrying banner festoons.
Among the speakers at the hour-long program were Kamal Jose, the general secretary of the district branch of the organization, Abul Kalam Azad, the president of the district branch of the Bangladesh Pre-Cadet and School Foundation, and Moniruzzaman Manik, the director of Udayan Vidya Niketan.
The speakers highlighted that thousands of students enrolled in kindergartens and equivalent institutions face discrimination as they are not allowed to take part in the scholarship examination, despite being part of the primary education system. They emphasized that education is a fundamental right for all, and no student should be excluded. They urged for a prompt revision of the decision to ensure that every student has the chance to participate in the scholarship examination.
