The last working day of the week, the main stock market of the country, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), ended with the index falling. The main index decreased by 58 points compared to the previous working day. At the same time, transactions remained below Tk. 400 crore for nine consecutive working days.
According to sources, DSE’s main index ‘DSEX’ fell by 58.23 points on Thursday (October 17). Currently the index stands at 5 thousand 257 points.
Besides, another index of DSE ‘DSES’ has decreased by 8.74 points to 1174 points and ‘DS-30’ index has decreased by 17.58 points to 1930 points.
Shares and units worth Tk. 306 crore 89 lakh were traded in DSE today. 296 crores and 34 lakhs were traded on the previous working day.
A total of 395 shares and units of companies were exchanged in DSE that day. Among the institutions that participated in the transaction, 53 companies increased in price, while 293 companies decreased in price. Besides, the share and unit price of 49 companies remained unchanged.
