Noor-E Helal Saifur Rahman has been named the new Ambassador of Bangladesh to Jordan, succeeding Ambassador Nahida Sobhan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Wednesday.
Ambassador Rahman is a seasoned diplomat from the 15th batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Foreign Affairs cadre. Since joining the service in 1995, he has held various significant positions. He is currently serving as the Ambassador to South Africa, with concurrent accreditation to Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Lesotho.
Throughout his diplomatic career, Rahman has been posted in Bangladesh Missions in Islamabad, Paris, Singapore, and Kuwait. He also served as the Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Karachi. At the Foreign Ministry headquarters, he has held several crucial roles, including Director General of the Africa Wing and Director General of the External Publicity Wing.
Rahman holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Bangla Language and Literature from the University of Dhaka. He also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
