Nominal rise in DSE, fall in CSE

On Thursday (January 30), the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended trading with a rise in the price index. At the same time, the trading volume increased. However, the price index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) decreased along with the trading volume. The share prices of most companies decreased on this day.

On this day, the main index of the country’s main stock market, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the main index, rose by 0.38 points to 5113 points. Which had decreased by 14 points the previous day.

Shares and units worth Tk 389.95 crore were traded on the DSE on Thursday. The amount was Tk 314.17 crore the previous day. As a result, the transaction increased by 75.78 crore or 24 percent.

Out of the 395 companies traded on the DSE today, the share and unit prices of 120 increased by 30.37 percent. And the prices of 219 or 55.44 percent decreased and the prices of 56 or 14.17 percent remained unchanged.

On the other hand, shares and units worth Tk 127.8 crore were traded on the CSE on Thursday. Out of the 211 companies traded on the CSE on that day, the share and unit prices of 59 increased, 125 decreased and 27 remained unchanged. On that day, the overall index of the CSE, CASPI, fell by 31 points to 14,301 points.

Shares and units worth Tk 42.0 crore were traded on the CSE the previous day. And the index, CASPI, fell by 43 points.
