Standard Islami Bank PLC. has recently signed an agreement with Bangladesh Bank under a Tk. 10,000 crore Agricultural Refinance Scheme to finance farmers, agri-entrepreneurs and rural-based small businesses. The agreement was signed at Bangladesh Bank Head Office in presence of Mr. AKM Saiduzzaman, Director, (Agricultural Credit Department-2); Ms. Rafia Sultana, Additional Director; Mr. Md. Sakhawat Hossain, Joint Director and Mr. Riaz Mahmud, Assistant Director from Bangladesh Bank and Mr. Md. Iqbal, Executive Vice President & Head of Investment Risk Management Division and Mr. Mohammad Amzad Hossain Fakir, Vice President & Head of SME, Agri & Retail Banking Division from Standard Islami Bank. Under the agreement, Standard Islami Bank will finance farmers, agri-entrepreneurs and rural-based small businesses, contributing to increased agricultural production, strengthened food security, expanded agriculture-based economic activities and sustainable employment generation. The initiative reflects the Bank’s continued commitment to financial inclusion and inclusive economic growth.
