No Machine: Mir Sarfat Ali Sapu’s Plan for Street Elections Amidst Challenges

Munshiganj (West) Correspondent: A coalition is working to obstruct the elections scheduled for February. Elections are set to take place in Bangladesh. They cannot be hindered by any voting machines. If needed, we will conduct elections through street protests – cautioned Mir Sarfat Ali Sapu, the Volunteer Affairs Secretary of the BNP’s Central Executive Committee.

He made these remarks to reporters following a protest march held in Srinagar Upazila of Munshiganj on Wednesday (July 16) to oppose the negative propaganda against BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

He further stated that the uncertainty surrounding the elections has dissipated after the meeting between Dr. Yunus and Tarique Rahman. Since that meeting, a faction has been engaged in various plots to derail the elections. Nevertheless, the public will not allow this conspiracy to prevail.

Beginning at the Zamzam Tower area of Srinagar, the procession traversed the main roads and concluded with a rally at the Chhonbari underpass area. The protest procession saw participation from Munshiganj District BNP Convener Awlad Hossain Ujjal, Jasim Molla, Tajul Islam, District Women and Children Rights Forum Organizing Secretary Mahmud Hasan Fahad, along with approximately 3,000 leaders and activists.

Subsequently, special prayers were held for the souls of all martyrs, including Abu Sayeed and Wasim, who lost their lives during the July movement.
