The Chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), Khandakar Rashed Maksud, assured that companies interested in being listed on the capital market will get fair pricing and valuation under the new rules. He stated that the new rules modernize and strengthen the regulatory framework related to IPOs.
On Monday (8 December) at 3:00 PM, he made these remarks at a meeting with representatives of state-owned and multinational companies held at the BSEC office in Agargaon, Dhaka, regarding the draft IPO rules and direct listing on the capital market. These details were shared in a press release sent by BSEC Director and spokesperson Md. Abul Kalam.
The BSEC Chairman said that profitable, fundamental-based state-owned companies, as well as multinational companies, have been instructed by the Chief Advisor to get directly listed on the capital market. According to the instructions, these companies are required to enter the capital market. The highest level of government directives has already been communicated to the companies. Work must be done to implement this as quickly as possible.
Chairing the meeting, BSEC Chairman Khandakar Rashed Maksud oversaw detailed discussions on the draft IPO rules and how state-owned and multinational companies can be directly listed on the capital market. Representatives of the companies shared their opinions and suggestions on various issues during the meeting.

Saifuddin; Managing Director of Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB) Niranjan Chandra Debnath; CEO of ICB Capital Management Limited Majeda Khatun; Deputy CEO of ICB Capital Management Limited Sharif Mohammad Kibria; Deputy General Manager (Commercial) of Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) Mohammad Shamim Rana; Chief Financial Officer of Sinovia Pharma PLC Golam Robbani Akand.
