Panchagarh Correspondent: National Girl Child Day 2025 was celebrated in Tentulia, Panchagarh with the theme of ”Dreaming, fighting with courage, working for the welfare of the country”. This Wednesday morning, a procession took out from the Upazila Parishad premises and circled the intersection market. Later, Assistant Commissioner (Land) SM Akash spoke as the chief guest in the Upazila Parishad Hallroom under the chairmanship of Upazila Primary Education Officer Md. Jahangir Alam.
In his speech as the chief guest, he said, just as girl children were oppressed in the era of ignorance, in the present modern civilized society, women are being discriminated against in the family and society at home and abroad. We want to eliminate this discrimination and give priority to women in all areas including education, nutrition and health.
In addition, girls should not be considered as women and should be raised like sons. For this reason, this day is being celebrated in the country with the aim of creating awareness in the family and society. Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Syed Mahmudur Rahman, Upazila Youth Development Officer Abu Zafar Hawlader spoke as special guests at the meeting. Among others, SNP leader Habibur Rahman, journalist MA Baset and student Fatema were present.
