Meghna Bank Appoints New Deputy Managing Director

Mr. Momtazul Karim N Ahmed is an eminently seasoned Banker with over 19 years of experience in banking industry covering both local and multinational banks. In the professional journey, Mr. Ahmed stepped into his banking career with Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) and later on moved to NRB Bank PLC. Most recently he was the Head of Corporate Banking of Bank Alfalah Ltd – Bangladesh.

He has diverse expertise in Corporate Banking, program design & rollout, Agri and SME financing, offshore banking, FI credit lines and Business, Trade services, Supply Chain Finances, Structured Finance, Cash Management Solutions and also played pivotal role in facilitating improved Cyber Security, Trade Based Money laundering process. Mr. Ahmed served in various senior management roles where he was instrumental in developing strategic business initiatives, structuring complex financial solutions and promoting sustainable banking practices. Through his strategic initiative and leadership, both NRB Bank PLC and Bank Alfalah got new feathers of Corporate Banking and its process centralization.

A distinguished figure, he possesses BBA and MBA majoring in Finance & Banking from the Dhaka University followed by completing Master of Science with concentration on Strategic Planning from the Johns Hopkins University, USA. He achieved numerous certifications, participated in trainings and distinguished workshops at home and abroad.

He is widely respected for his strategic thinking, integrity and commitment to building a performance-driven culture that aligns with the Bank’s mission & vision. His extensive and varied experience, leadership style and personality will immensely benefit Meghna Bank in its journey forward.
