A person’s work ethic significantly influences the breadth of their professional capabilities. Consequently, pursuing technical education alongside general education is essential. The Mymensingh Technical Training Center serves as a skill development institution dedicated to providing work-oriented education aimed at cultivating skilled human resources.
Established in 1977 in the Maskanda area of Greater Mymensingh, the Mymensingh Technical Training Center boasts 15 well-equipped laboratories, offers 14 vocational trades, and provides three language courses (English, Korean, and Japanese), supported by a team of 38 skilled instructors. Currently, there are 1,200 trainees enrolled in various ongoing courses, with approximately 3,000 individuals completing different technical programs each year. Additionally, the center offers two specialized courses for those preparing to work abroad: a two-month housekeeping course and a three-day Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) course, which is attended by around 20,000 individuals annually.
Numerous trainees who have completed their training at this institution report that they have secured employment opportunities both domestically and internationally, enabling them to support their families. Principal Engineer Mohammad Mahtab Uddin emphasized, “Our objective is to transform the unskilled or unemployed into valuable human resources by equipping them with the necessary skills, thereby alleviating societal burdens.” The Mymensingh Technical Training Center operates under CCTV oversight. The current principal has successfully implemented various initiatives, including a digital attendance system, modern meeting facilities, and a landscaped garden for aesthetic enhancement. With the introduction of advanced equipment, students will have the opportunity to further enhance their skill sets.
