MTB ranks 4th in the list of top 10 sustainable banks

Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) has once again been recognized by Bangladesh Bank as one of the top ten sustainable banks in the country based on its activities in 2024. MTB has secured 4th place among the top ten sustainable banks in the 2024 list published by Bangladesh Bank.

The bank confirmed this information in a press release on Sunday (August 24).

MTB’s Managing Director and CEO Syed Mahbubur Rahman and Additional Managing Director and GCRO Chowdhury Akhtar Asif received the award and crest from Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur at the ‘Sustainable Rating Recognition Ceremony’ organized at the head office of Bangladesh Bank. Bangladesh Bank’s Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar and Director of Sustainable Finance Department Chowdhury Liaquat Ali were present at the event. MTB’s Head of Sustainable Finance Department Tahmina Zaman Khan was also present at the event.

In this context, MTB Managing Director and CEO Syed Mahbubur Rahman said – “We are extremely proud to be ranked among the top sustainable banks in the country. This achievement is a reflection of our continued efforts to integrate ESG principles into our banking operations, which is helping our growth make a positive contribution to society and the environment.”

MTB has always been committed to contributing to green finance, climate resilience, financial inclusion and achieving the SDGs. The bank will continue to work on climate-smart, inclusive and responsible banking services to ensure sustainable development across the country.
