Modhumoti Bank PLC has signed an agreement with Bangladesh Bank for participating in Tk.5000 Crore CMSME Working Capital Refinance Fund. The signing ceremony was held at the Head Office of Bangladesh Bank on Tuesday, September 08, 2026, and was chaired by Mr. Md. Anis Ur Rahman, Honorable Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank. Mr. Md. Shafiul Azam, Managing Director of Modhumoti Bank, and Mr. Md. Zabdul Islam, Director of SME & Special Programmes Department (SMESPD), signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. Among others present at the ceremony from Modhumoti Bank were Mr. Arab Fazlur Rahman, Deputy Managing Director & Chief Business Officer; Mr. Zahid Al Muntasir, Head of CMSME Business Support; and from Bangladesh Bank, Ms. Nahid Rahman, Executive Director; and Ms. Shahanaj Pervin, Additional Director.

Under this agreement, Modhumoti Bank PLC will be able to extend financing facilities at a concessional interest rate of 9% p.a. to CMSME customers under the refinance schemes of Bangladesh Bank, which will contribute to the growth and development of the CMSME sector.
