Meghna Life Launches Special Campaign to Boost Renewal Premium Collection

A development meeting on “Renewal Premium Collection and Revival of Lapsed Policies” was recently held by Meghna Life Insurance PLC in Dhaka. The meeting was attended by development personnel from different levels of the company who came from across the country.

To mark the company’s 30th anniversary, Meghna Life Insurance PLC has launched a special four-month campaign titled “Renewal Premium Collection Festival”, which will continue from September through December 2026. At the meeting, field-level personnel who successfully achieved their targets for renewal premium collection and the revival of lapsed and paid-up policies in September were recognized and rewarded as an encouragement for their outstanding performance.

In his speech, Nizam Uddin Ahmed, Chairman of Meghna Life Insurance PLC and former Member of Parliament said, “Renewal premium is the driving force of life insurance. However, greater emphasis in the life insurance sector is often placed on first-year premium collection rather than renewal premium collection. As a result, a significant number of policies become lapsed or paid-up, which is one of the notable factors contributing to the challenges faced by the insurance sector. Meghna Life Insurance PLC is placing special emphasis on renewal premium collection and the revival of lapsed and paid-up policies through modern and innovative technologies as well as various campaigns.”

It may be mentioned that Meghna Life Insurance PLC has earned the trust and confidence of its policyholders by settling insurance claims amounting to Tk. 4,428.50 crore over the years. In 2025, the company settled claims amounting to Tk. 286.78 crore, achieving a claim settlement ratio of 98.74%. From January to September 2026, the company has settled claims amounting to Tk. 194.18 crore.

The company disburses payments for all insurance claims, including death claims, directly to policyholders’ bank accounts through modern banking channels such as BEFTN (Bangladesh Electronic Funds Transfer Network) and RTGS (Real-Time Gross Settlement). Through this process, policyholders can receive their claim payments conveniently from the comfort of their homes.

The meeting was also addressed by Nasir Uddin Ahmed (Pavel), Vice Chairman of the company and former President of the Bangladesh Insurance Association (BIA); Riaz Uddin Ahmed, Director; Mohammad Tareq FCA, Acting Chief Executive Officer; Zainal Abedin Bhuiyan FLMI, Consultant and Head of Marketing; and development officers of the company.
