BM Desk: In May, Bangladesh achieved its second-highest monthly remittance inflow ever, amounting to $2.97 billion, as reported by official statistics.
This figure represents a 31.70 percent increase compared to the $2.25 billion sent in May 2024.
With this recent inflow, the total remittance earnings for the first eleven months of the current fiscal year (FY 2024–25) have reached $27.51 billion, offering essential support to the country’s foreign currency reserves.
This strong growth is viewed as a favorable indicator for the economy, which is still facing challenges related to foreign exchange shortages.
