B Mirror Desk :The fifth day-long meeting of the Central Coordination Committee (CCC) for the Climate Resilient Local Infrastructure Center (CReLIC), part of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), took place at the Agargaon headquarters on May 13. CReLIC is focused on establishing a Climate Resilient Local Infrastructure Center under the Climate Resilient Infrastructure Mainstreaming (CREM) project, which is supported by the Green Climate Fund, the German Development Bank, and the Government of Bangladesh.
This initiative aims to integrate climate change resilience into the planning, design, execution, and assessment of local infrastructure projects. The meeting was graced by the presence of LGED Chief Engineer Md. Abdur Rashid Mia, who served as the chief guest. In his address, he emphasized the ambitious vision for CRELIC, stating that it will evolve into a comprehensive knowledge hub for LGED, and assured that LGED would take all necessary steps to promote CReLIC as a center of excellence.
The meeting included an update on CReLIC’s progress, a report on Climate Resilient Tools (CRT), and discussions regarding the potential date for the Annual Adaptation Award. Attendees shared their insights and suggestions, reaffirming their commitment to support the establishment of CRELIC.
