Legendary Asian Boxer Arvind Lalwani at Bashundhara Sports City

Arvind Lalwani, the legendary Asian boxer from Singapore, arrived in Dhaka on Friday for a two-day visit organized by the Julukan Indoor Arena at Bashundhara Sports City. He has started a special training camp for Bangladeshi boxers at Julukan.

Speaking at the training camp, Arvind Lalwani said, “The facilities at Julukan Arena are world-class. I am impressed to see such amenities. Even clubs in Singapore do not have such modern facilities. Compared to other countries globally, this club ranks among the top. Many countries lack such boxing facilities. To produce high-quality boxers, everything must be advanced. Julukan Arena is simply excellent. It will progress even further in the future.”

It is worth mentioning that Arvind Lalwani trained directly under Angelo Dundee, the legendary trainer of Muhammad Ali.

Lalwani also said that initiatives like this could change the standard and capability of boxing in Bangladesh.

The organizers of this initiative are hopeful that Bashundhara’s efforts will open new doors of opportunity for boxing in Bangladesh.

At the camp, Bashundhara Sports City’s Senior Executive Director Major Md. Mohsinul Karim said, “Our main goal is to make boxing one of the most popular sports in Bangladesh. We want young athletes to reach new heights through international standard training.”

There was widespread enthusiasm among local coaches and players surrounding the training camp. Arvind Lalwani’s visit will undoubtedly be an important milestone on the path to elevating Bangladeshi boxing to new heights. Bashundhara’s initiative will inspire the younger generation and pave the way for advancing the country’s boxing on the international stage.
