Kazi Shah Muzakker Ahmadul Haque Appointed Honorary Consul of Croatia in Bangladesh

B Mirror Desk — Kazi Shah Muzakker Ahmadul Haque has been officially appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Croatia in Bangladesh. The appointment was formally made by the President of Croatia, H.E. Zoran Milanović, on May 29, 2025.

Following this, the Government of Bangladesh granted Mr. Haque the official Exequatur on August 18, 2025, recognizing and authorizing him to carry out his consular duties on behalf of Croatia in the country.

In response to his appointment, Mr. Haque expressed both pride and a sense of responsibility:

“This appointment is not only a great honor but also a noble duty. I look forward to strengthening the friendship, cooperation, and mutual development between Bangladesh and Croatia.”

Croatia, a picturesque Southeast European nation situated along the Adriatic Sea, is known for its rich cultural heritage, stunning coastline, and over a thousand islands. With a population of approximately 3.8 million, its capital city is Zagreb.

Since gaining independence from the former Yugoslavia in 1991, Croatia has made significant strides in democracy, economic development, and regional cooperation. The country joined the European Union in 2013 and NATO in 2009. More recently, in 2023, it became a member of both the Schengen Area and the Eurozone.

Croatia’s economy thrives not only on tourism but also on sectors such as information technology, pharmaceuticals, and shipbuilding.

Mr. Haque’s appointment is expected to foster stronger diplomatic and economic ties between Bangladesh and Croatia, enhancing opportunities for collaboration in diverse fields.
