Janata Bank PLC emerged as the champion in the Bankers’ Friendship Cricket Tournament 2025, organised by the Bankers’ Sports Association, featuring eight teams from state-owned banks and financial institutions. The final match was held on 21 November 2025 at the Jagannath Hall cricket ground of Dhaka University.

In the decisive match, Janata Bank’s team “Team JB” secured a dominant victory over Sonali Bank PLC’s “Sonali Tigers”, winning by 127 runs to claim the championship title. The exciting final drew attendance from numerous senior officials. Chairman of Janata Bank’s Board of Directors Muh. Fazlur Rahman, CSP, Managing Director Md Mozibur Rahman, and Deputy Managing Director Md Golam Mortuza were present, along with Tournament Committee Convener Prosun Biswas, Member Secretary Md Russel Shikdar, and senior representatives from participating banks.

The tournament also saw teams from Agrani Bank PLC, Rupali Bank PLC, Bangladesh Krishi Bank, Bangladesh Development Bank PLC, BASIC Bank Ltd, and Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation compete for the trophy.

Individual accolades were awarded at the end of the final: Mahbub Tipu of Janata Bank was named Man of the Match, Sonali Bank’s Palash won Best Bowler, while Janata Bank’s Roman was honoured as both Best Batter and Player of the Tournament.
