B Mirror Desk: Today, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami will hold discussions with the Consensus Commission regarding proposed reforms. The discussions are set to commence at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 26, at the LD Hall within the National Parliament Building.
The meeting will be chaired by Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher, Nayeb-e-Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami and former Member of Parliament. Following the meeting, the Jamaat delegation will provide further details during a press conference. Previously, on March 20, Jamaat-e-Islami presented a written proposal to the National Consensus Commission, advocating for proportional representation and a bicameral parliament. During that time, they also expressed views on various topics, including the constitution, public administration, judiciary, and election commission. Party leaders emphasized that Jamaat is willing to allow the government as much time as necessary to ensure a fair election, rather than specifying a deadline.
