Through initial public offerings (IPOs), the capital market has raised a total of Tk 1,375 crore this year. Two companies raised this money through qualified investor offers (QIO) and four through initial public offerings (IPO) during this time. Additionally, two banks raised money by bond sales.
A total of Tk 1,842 crore was raised from the capital market in the prior year, 2023, through the issuance of three initial public offerings (IPO), three through QIOs, and one to four bonds through mutual funds.
As a result, compared to last year, Tk 467 crore less capital has been raised from the capital market this year.
Through bonds, QIOs, mutual funds, IPOs, and 26 lakh 10 thousand 60 crore, a total of Tk 1,011 crore 26 lakh 10 thousand 60 crore was raised from the capital market in 2022.
15 companies raised a total of Tk 1,658.44 crore from the capital market through initial public offerings (IPOs) in 2021, including 1 Sukuk bond and 14 other companies.
In 2020, 8 companies raised a total of Tk 985.87 crore through IPOs. Out of these, 3 companies raised Tk 311 crore through premium.
According to sources, among the companies that raised capital through IPOs from the capital market this year, NRB Bank Limited raised Tk 100 crore, Best Holdings Limited raised Tk 350 crore, Asiatic Laboratories Limited raised Tk 95 crore and Techno Drugs Limited raised Tk 100 crore. Among the companies that raised capital through QIOs, Craftsman Footwear and Accessories Limited raised Tk 5 crore and Web Quotes PLC raised Tk 5 crore.
In addition, Southeast Bank has raised capital of Tk 450 crore through First Perpetual Bond and UCB Second Perpetual Bond of Tk 270 crore.
