Investors’ capital decreased by Tk 13 thousand 217 crores

In the last week (March 2 to March 6), all the index in the country’s main capital market, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), fell. The market capitalization of the DSE, along with the indices, decreased by about Tk 13,217 crore during the week in question.

This information was revealed from the weekly update report of the capital market.

On the last working day of this week, the market capitalization of the DSE stood at 6 lakh 82 thousand 147 crore 54 lakh taka. On the last working day of the previous week, this capital was 6 lakh 95 thousand 364 crore 20 lakh taka. That is, the market capitalization of the DSE decreased by 13 thousand 216 crore 66 lakh taka or 1.90 percent in the space of a week.

All the index of DSE also fell this week. The main price index DSEX fell by 43.34 points or 0.83 percent. In addition, the DSE-30 index fell by 15.87 points or 0.83 percent. And the DSES index fell by 6.11 points or 0.52 percent.

Along with the decline in the index, the volume of transactions on DSE also decreased. The total transactions on DSE during the week were 1,813.49 crore taka. The total transactions in the previous week were 3,560.61 crore taka. The transactions decreased by 1,242.51 crore taka in a week.

The average daily trading volume decreased by 146.63 crore taka or 28.79 percent. The average daily trading volume on the DSE this week was 362.70 crore taka. The average daily trading volume in the previous week was 509.33 crore taka.

 

During the week, 395 company shares and mutual fund units were traded on DSE. Among them, the share prices of 86 companies increased, 289 companies decreased and 20 companies remained unchanged.
