Investor accuses Binimoy securities of irregularities

An investor has lodged a formal complaint with the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) against Binimoy Securities Limited, alleging unauthorised margin loans, share sales without consent, suspicious account transactions and changes to bank account information.

In a written complaint submitted to the DSE on September 28, 2026, investor S M Mofizur Rahman alleged that his beneficiary owner (BO) account had been operated without his consent and that transactions had been carried out without proper authorisation.

According to the complaint, margin loans were extended against his account without his approval, while shares held in his portfolio were allegedly sold without his knowledge or consent. He also raised concerns about changes to his margin account and the handling of funds deposited into and withdrawn from his account.

The investor further alleged that the brokerage firm had not provided key documents despite repeated requests. These include portfolio statements, detailed ledger statements, transaction and trade statements, margin loan agreements, margin account opening or modification documents, records of margin loan disbursements and supporting documents related to changes in bank account information.

He also sought clarification on whether his bank account details had been changed and, if so, who authorised the changes, when they were made and which documents were used to process them.

The complainant expressed concern that he had been asked to sign various documents instead of being provided with the requested records. He urged the authorities to investigate whether his signatures had been obtained or used without proper disclosure and whether any previously submitted signatures had been misused.

Seeking regulatory intervention, Rahman requested the DSE and the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) to investigate the allegations, examine the relevant account records and take necessary action in accordance with applicable rules and regulations. The allegations have not been independently verified.
