Raihan, Mymensingh Correspondent: Inspector Sentu Ranjan Nath, the newly appointed officer of Circle “A” under the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) in Mymensingh, has pledged to strengthen anti-drug operations across the district.

He said that area-based search drives will continue at the grassroots level, maintaining a strict zero-tolerance policy against drug use and trafficking. Key initiatives include raising public awareness, promoting understanding of legal penalties, and expanding anti-drug campaigns in schools and colleges. Educational materials with anti-drug messages are also being distributed to inform young people about the harmful effects of narcotics.

Additionally, steps are being taken to ensure treatment and rehabilitation for drug addicts through dedicated centers. Private rehabilitation facilities are under regular monitoring, with guidance provided to improve service standards.

Inspector Nath emphasized that the DNC is handling the issue with utmost importance to ensure that no innocent person faces unnecessary harassment during enforcement operations.

He added that these activities are being carried out under the direction of Deputy Director Anwar Hossain of the Mymensingh DNC office and sought cooperation from all sections of society in the fight against drugs.
