The overall rate of inflation in the nation has dropped from 0.57 percent to 8.48 percent. As a result, after two years, the nation’s inflation rate has dropped below 9%. The Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) recently released a study that included this information.

According to the data, the point-to-point national general inflation rate in May was 9.05 percent. In June, it dropped from that level by 0.57 percent to 8.48 percent. The drop in the cost of both food and non-food items is the primary cause of this decrease in inflation. Food inflation dropped from 8.59 percent in May to 7.39 percent in June. In contrast, non-food inflation dropped from 9.42 percent in May to 9.37 percent.

General point-to-point inflation at the rural level decreased from 9.05 percent in May to 8.46 percent in June, according to BBS statistics. In rural areas, food inflation dropped from 8.30 percent in May to 7.14 percent in June. Non-food item inflation dropped from 9.75 percent in May to 9.72 percent.
In a similar vein, urban general point-to-point inflation decreased from 9.50 percent in May to 8.94 percent in June. In cities, the rate of inflation for food products dropped from 9.29 percent in May to 7.99 percent in June. Non-food item inflation dropped from 9.63 percent in May to 9.53 percent.
