BM Desk : According to Central Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur, the nation’s 61 banks would be split up into 12 divisions according to risk and business type.
He made this statement during a news conference on the status of institutional supervision or risk-based supervision implementation in risk management that was held on Monday, July 7.
According to Dr. Ahsan, 20 banks have finished their risk-based audits, and by December, all banks will have finished theirs as well. Beginning in January 2026, banks will be subject to risk-based oversight.
In order to handle political pressure financially, he added, politics must be improved. Institutional risk supervision does not allow for political qualitative change.
