Index at lowest in four years, investors panic.

After the political changes in the country, there is a major change in the leadership of the stock market. Investors start dreaming with new hope. But that hope of the investors did not see the light again after the new commission of the regulatory body Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) took charge. On the contrary, ordinary investors are disoriented by losing capital.

Since the new commission of BSEC took charge, the prices have continued to fall steadily. Today, the first working day of the week saw a big fall in indices and share prices. In one day, the main index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) DSEX fell by 149 points. The main index fell to its lowest in nearly four years or 46 months. The fear of stock market investors is getting heavy. Together they participated in the movement for the safety of their capital

According to sources, on Sunday (October 27), the main price index of DSE, DSEX, is down 148.20 points at 4,965 points. Which has come down to the lowest level in the last 46 and a half months. Earlier, on December 2, 2020, the DSE index stood at 4,934 points.

Besides, another index of DSE ‘DSES’ decreased by 36.27 points to 1107 points and ‘DS-30’ index decreased by 48.18 points to 1830 points.

Shares and units worth Tk. 303 crore 80 lakh were traded in DSE today. 306 Crore 01 Lakh was traded on the previous working day.

A total of 396 shares and units of companies were exchanged in DSE that day. Among the institutions that participated in the transaction, 29 companies increased in price, while 341 companies declined in price. And the share and unit price of 26 companies remained unchanged.
