Inauguration of Traffic Fine Collection through Community Bank

Inauguration of fine collection of traffic cases of CMP through Community Bank in Chittagong. Conducted training workshops aimed at facilitating “E-traffic management and collection of fines”.

On 10th April 2025 AD, fine collection of traffic cases of Chittagong Metropolitan Police was inaugurated by Community Bank Bangladesh Plc. On this occasion, a program was organized at Chittagong Metropolitan Police Headquarters.

Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mr. Hasib Aziz was present on the occasion as the President. An agreement was signed between Community Bank Bangladesh PLC and Chittagong Metropolitan Police on the occasion. Police Commissioner Mr. Hasib Aziz on behalf of Chittagong Metropolitan Police and Mr. Md. Abdul Qayyum Khan, Managing Director (Acting) of Community Bank signed the agreement.

A 2-day training workshop was organized in collaboration with Community Bank IT Consultants Plc (ITCL) to highlight the methods of e-traffic prosecution and fine collection for police officers. Thursday (April 10, 2025) was the concluding day of the workshop and after the training it will be easy to conveniently pay traffic fines using any bank card, mobile financial service or POS machine through various banking apps. After the training and contract signing, Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mr. Hasib Aziz announced the official opening of fine collection of traffic cases.

In the current system, when a case is filed against a vehicle in Chittagong city and its surrounding areas, it becomes difficult for the victim to submit the same due to lack of collection booths for collection of traffic fines. To make this process easier, Community Bank has introduced a high-quality POS system through modern software upgrades, through which you can easily pay the fine immediately using visa cards, debit cards, credit cards of various banks. Also, by using Smart Bangla QR Code (BANGLA QR) designated by Bangladesh Bank, you can pay traffic prosecution fines using 21 online banking apps including mobile financial services like Bikash, Naqd, Rocket, Mcash and 78 payment gateways including 56 National Payment Swift of Bangladesh. And all these fines will be deposited in the government treasury in due process using the Community Bank’s payment channel. In most cases there will be no need to retain documents in this process.

On the occasion, Additional Commissioner of Police (Administration, Finance and Crime) of CMP, Mr. Md. Humayun Kabir; Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Mr. Md. Asfiquzzaman Akhtar and other senior officials of the Traffic Department along with Community Bank Bangladesh Plc. Its Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mr. Samsul Haque Sufiani, Head of Operations Mr. Sharfuddin Md. Redwan Patwari, SVP & Agrabad Branch Manager Mr. Mohammad Riaz Uddin, VP & Head of Cards Mr. Zaheer Ahmed, SAVP & Andarqilla Branch Manager Mr. Abdullah-Al-Mamun and senior officials of the bank were present at the inauguration ceremony.
