A seminar titled “Listening from successful professional Civil Engineer and Successful Entrepreneur from Engineering Background: Guideline for Young Engineers” was held in Dhaka on Wednesday. The event was organized by the Engineering Division of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).
“The engineering sector has a vital role to play in building Smart Bangladesh,” stressed Engineer Abdus Sabur MP, President of IEB, during his speech as the chief guest. He emphasized the importance of engineers in fulfilling the vision of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for Bangladesh.
Keynote speaker Engineer Md. Mokhlesur Rahman, Vice Chairman of SBAC Bank and Founding Chairman of BANDT Group, highlighted the remarkable contributions of engineers to the nation’s infrastructure development since independence.
“We must encourage young engineers to embrace entrepreneurship,” he remarked, emphasizing the potential for young professionals like yourselves to create their own opportunities.
The seminar explored various aspects of training, career prospects, and entrepreneurship for young engineers. The event featured speeches from prominent figures in the engineering sector, including Engineer Khondaker Manjur Morshed, Vice President, HRD, IEB, and Engineer Md. Shahadat Hossain (Shiblu), Vice President, S&W, IEB.
Panel discussions and interactive sessions provided a valuable platform for young engineers to gain insights and guidance from experienced professionals like Engineer Abdul Kalam Hazari, Secretary General, IEB, Engr. Saumitra Kumar Mutsuddi, Chairman, Civil Engineering Division, and Engineer Satinath Basak, Vice Chairman, Civil Engineering Division, IEB.
Engr. Syed Shihabur Rahman, Secretary, Civil Engineering Division, IEB conducted the seminar.
