B Mirror Report : The Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA) will present the ‘IDRA Insurance Excellence Award 2025’ to 13 life and non-life insurance companies for their outstanding performance in corporate governance, transparency, and professional management. Of the winners, seven are non-life insurers and six are life insurers.

The announcement was made in a notification signed by Monira Begum, Executive Director (Non-Life) of IDRA, on 18 January and sent to the CEOs of the selected companies. The award, introduced to enhance the sector’s image and restore public confidence, was based on a review of governance and performance, ranking companies from first to fifth in each category.

In non-life insurance, Pragati Insurance Limited topped the list, followed by Sadharan Bima Corporation and Reliance Insurance PLC, with Green Delta Insurance PLC fourth and Eastland Insurance PLC, Sena Insurance PLC, and United Insurance Company Limited jointly fifth.

In the life insurance category, American Life Insurance Company Limited (MetLife) secured first place, with Pragati Life Insurance PLC second, Delta Life Insurance Company Limited third, Jiban Bima Corporation fourth, and National Life Insurance PLC and Guardian Life Insurance Limited jointly fifth.

IDRA said the formal award ceremony schedule will be announced soon, noting that the initiative also aims to promote accountability, transparency, and quality management in the insurance industry.
