The 14th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) took place on Friday at a hotel in Dhaka. The event was marked by significant discussions and presentations on the institute’s accomplishments and future plans.

In his opening remarks, Secretary and CEO of ICSB, Md Zakir Hossain, welcomed all members to the AGM. The meeting was presided over by Mohammad Asad Ullah FCS, President of ICSB, who presented the council’s report for 2023.

During his speech, President Asad Ullah highlighted several key activities and achievements of the institute over the past year. These included the successful organization of the 10th ICSB National Award for Corporate Governance Excellence 2022, various training programs, CPD programs, and seminars. Additionally, the institute unveiled a new website, launched an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, signed MoUs with different organizations, gained recognition through the Income Tax Act, 2023, and received a favorable verdict on a land case in Aftab Nagar.

He expressed gratitude to the members for their valuable suggestions and unwavering support in advancing the institute’s goals.

A large number of members attended the meeting, actively participating in discussions about the Annual Report. They praised the institute’s performance and affirmed that the council is diligently working to achieve its committed targets and elevate the institute to a “Centre of Excellence.”

The Audited Financial Statements for the year ending December 31, 2023, were presented by Treasurer Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun FCS and subsequently approved by the members.

The meeting concluded with the appointment of “M/S A Qasem and Co, Chartered Accountants” as the external auditors for the institute for the year 2024.

Senior Vice President M Nurul Alam FCS, Vice President A K M Mushfiqur Rahman FCPS, and other council members, fellows, and associates were also present at the AGM.
