22 organizations received ICAB awards in 13 categories for best presented annual report, integrated report and corporate governance. The award was presented at the ’24th ICAB National Award’ ceremony organized by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) at Hotel Sonagaon in the capital on Tuesday (September 10).
Attending the event as the chief guest, Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, Adviser, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce, and Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. President of ICAB Mohammed Forkan Uddin gave a welcome speech on the occasion. Besides, Chairman of Review Committee for Published Accounts and Reports (RCPAR) of ICAB spoke by highlighting the selection process of the best report. Humayun Kabir FCA and co-chairman. Moniruzzan.
Bank Asia PAC has been selected overall winner in the 24th ICAB National Awards competition. A total of 22 organizations were awarded in the three categories of Best Presented Annual Report, Integrated Report and Corporate Governance Disclosures. Also 8 institutes were given ‘Merit’ award.
It is known that 76 companies submitted their financial report 2023 to ICAB for nomination in the competition. The three best reports in each sector from the winning institutions will be sent for nomination to the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) competition held within the SAARC countries.

Private Sector Banks: Bank Asia Plc and Shahjalal Islami Bank Plc jointly won Gold Award and City Bank Plc Silver and BRAC Bank Plc and United Commercial Bank Plc jointly won Bronze Award.
Financial Services Sector: IPDC Finance Limited Gold and IDLC Finance Plc Bronze Award winners.
Manufacturing: British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company Limited Gold, Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC Silver and Reckitt Benckiser (Bangladesh) PLC Bronze Award Winners.
Power and Energy Sector: United Power Generation and Distribution Company Limited won the Silver Award.
Dowerified Holdings: Advanced Chemical Industries Limited/ACI Limited Bronze Award Winner.
Insurance (General): Green Delta Insurance Company Limited Gold, Reliance Insurance Limited Silver and City General Insurance Company Limited Bronze Award winners.
Insurance (Life): National Life Insurance Company Limited won the bronze award.
NGO/NPO: Sajida Foundation Silver and Shakti Foundation for Disadvantaged Women Bronze Award winners.
Communication and Information Technology: Robi Aziata Limited Gold, Grameenphone Limited Silver and Genex Infosys Limited won the Bronze Award.
Service Sector: Unique Hotels & Resorts plc Bronze Award Winner.
Corporate Governance Category: Bank Asia Plc Gold, Shahjalal Islami Bank Plc Silver and Bronze Award Winners BRAC Bank Plc.
Integrate Reporting Category: Bank Asia Plc and Shahjalal Islami Bank Plc jointly won the Gold Award, IDLC Finance Plc Silver and BRAC Bank Plc won the Bronze Award.
It is to be noted that due to non-availability of the prescribed marks this year, no award was given in the public sector banks, infrastructure and construction sector and agriculture sector.
