Imran Jhenaidah Correspondent : A press conference took place in Jhenaidah to express opposition to the establishment of the UN Human Rights Commission office in Bangladesh and to denounce the protest rally organized by Hefazat-e-Islam as a militant act.
The event was hosted by the Bangladesh Hefazat-e-Islam Jhenaidah district branch at the Coffee House auditorium in the city on Monday morning. Attendees included the district branch president Mufti Arif Billah Qasemi, vice-presidents Mufti Zakaria and Mufti Ejaz, joint secretary Mufti Jobayer, finance secretary Mufti Iliach, co-organizing secretary Maulana Ashraf, among others.
During the press conference, it was claimed that the establishment of the UN Human Rights Commission office in Bangladesh poses a threat to national sovereignty. Concerns were raised that the internal policies of the country might be influenced by foreign entities. The conference also called for the immediate removal of the UN Human Rights Commission office from Bangladesh, asserting that there are attempts to misrepresent the peaceful protest rally of Hefazat-e-Islam as a ‘militant drama’.
