B Mirror Report : Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed today stated that the government will make a final decision on the implementation of the National Pay Commission’s recommendations only after receiving the formal report.
“The National Pay Commission has been reconstituted after a gap of 10 to 12 years,” he told reporters during a visit to the Gurudaspur Upazila Mini Stadium.
Dr. Salehuddin assured the public that the commission is working diligently but stressed that several factors, especially the availability of funds, must be carefully considered before any recommendations are implemented. He urged citizens to remain patient and not be disheartened.
Responding to questions about a possible referendum, the Finance Adviser reiterated the government’s commitment to reforms, noting that a referendum is crucial to reflect public opinion. He added that significant progress has already been made in reform initiatives and that the referendum is intended to support future government reform efforts.
Before visiting Gurudaspur, Dr. Salehuddin, who also oversees the Ministry of Science and Technology, conducted an inspection of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant construction site. During the visit, he reviewed ongoing work and held discussions with project officials to assess progress.
