Govt Hands Seed Sowing Machines to Tentulia Farmers

Panchagarh Correspondent: In Tentulia, Panchagarh, the government has provided rice seedlings and seed sowing machines (Rich Transplanter Machine) along with equipment to the farmers’ associations across seven unions.

This Saturday afternoon, 10 rice seedlings and seed sowing machines (Rich Transplanter Machine), tool boxes, and seedbed trays were distributed free of charge to the Radar DP Krishak Samiti of seven unions as part of the Rangpur Division Agriculture and Rural Development Project, from the premises of the Tentulia Upazila Agriculture Office.

Shimul Hossain, a member of the Buraburi Bhoyalgach Radar DP Krishak Samity, remarked, “Previously, we planted saplings manually; now we can utilize machines for planting. This technology allows us (farmers) to cultivate using advanced methods. The Upazila Agriculture Office has already provided training to our Samity on this matter.”

Teacher Masud Al Karim, president of the Khalpara Radar DP Farmers’ Association in Tentulia Sadar, stated, “With this machine, the members of my association will gain knowledge on using advanced technology and mechanical tools in agriculture, which will help them cultivate crops at a lower cost.”

Tentulia Upazila Agriculture Officer, Agriculturist Tamanna Ferdous, mentioned that the Rangpur Division Agriculture and Rural Development Project aims to enhance agricultural practices in the northern region by promoting modern technology in rural farming across the country. Wheat and paddy harvesting machines have already become quite popular among farmers. The introduction of rice seedlings and seed sowing machines (Rich Transplanter Machine) will further advance the capabilities of rural farmers, benefiting 30 members from each association and fostering small entrepreneurship.

Upazila Agricultural Extension Officer Md. Jibon Islam, along with Deputy Assistant Agricultural Officers and association members, attended the distribution ceremony for the seed sowing machines.
