Fuel oil rationing lifted for police emergency services: PM

B Mirror Report: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today told the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) that fuel oil rationing for police and other emergency services has already been lifted.

We have already addressed the issue raised by a member of parliament. For emergency services, including police, ambulances, and fire service, the restriction has been withdrawn,” he said.

The Leader of the House made the statement while responding to a point of order raised by treasury bench lawmaker Manirul Haque Chowdhury, who alleged that reduced night patrols by police due to fuel shortages were contributing to a rise in criminal activities and affecting public safety.

The Prime Minister said the decision was taken and implemented two days ago, expressing hope that the situation would no longer create difficulties.

Manirul also referred to a recent incident in Cumilla where a young customs officer was killed, claiming that police informed him their patrol activities had been hampered due to fuel rationing.

Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram, was in the chair during the session.
