BM Desk: The World Federation of Consuls (FICAC) has officially announced the reelection of Hon. Nikolaos K. Margaropoulos as President and Hon. Asif A. Chowdhury as Vice President, following its General Assembly held on October 31, 2025. This marks President Margaropoulos’s second consecutive term, reaffirming the Federation’s confidence in his leadership and strategic vision.

Founded in 1982, FICAC serves as a global platform for honorary consuls, promoting international cooperation, good governance, and the strengthening of consular institutions worldwide. The reelection of both leaders highlights the organization’s commitment to continuity and progress in its mission to enhance diplomatic engagement and consular effectiveness.
Hon. Asif A. Chowdhury, who continues his role as Honorary Consul of Chile in Bangladesh, expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for the opportunity to serve another term. “It is a great honor to be reelected as Vice President of FICAC,” he said. “I am proud to continue serving under the distinguished leadership of President Hon. Nikolaos Margaropoulos, whose vision and dedication have taken the Federation to new heights. Together, we are committed to building on our achievements and further strengthening the global consular network.”
During their previous tenure, Margaropoulos and Chowdhury led several impactful initiatives, including regional cooperation programs, enhanced consular services, and training and capacity-building efforts for honorary consuls. These programs have played a vital role in expanding FICAC’s reach and influence across continents.
