All banking services, including transactions, of the private sector Dutch-Bangla Bank will be closed for five days to complete the migration process of banking software.
The Department of Offsite Supervision of Bangladesh Bank issued the directive on Wednesday (December 4) in response to the bank’s application.
The central bank’s notification said that the application of Dutch-Bangla Bank PLC to temporarily suspend core banking services for five days (from January 1 to 5) and agent banking services for seven days (December 30 to January 5) has been approved for the purpose of smoothly completing the migration work to the new core banking software.
This approval has been given under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Banking Companies Act, 1991.
