B Mirror Desk: The schedule for the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections has been made public by the authorities. The finalization of the voter list and the formation of the electoral commission are scheduled for May.
On Tuesday, April 15, Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Director (Acting) of DU’s Public Relations Department, signed a press statement containing this information.
The release said that the current administration of Dhaka University believes that DUCSU is an important part of the administration. Students are also quite interested in DUCSU elections. That is why the administration is working sincerely to organize DUCSU elections.
It said that the university administration has been in discussions with various stakeholders since last December to conduct a fair and acceptable DUCSU election. The university administration has published a roadmap with steps and progress to organize the elections in a fair and smooth manner.
The release also said that the election commission will be formed in the first half of May. Besides, the voter list will be finalized in mid-May.
