The overall price-to-earnings (PE) ratio of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) increased by 1% during the week ended Aug. 1, reflecting a slight improvement in the market’s valuation.
According to data from the DSE, the benchmark PE ratio rose from 9.27 points at the beginning of the week to 9.40 points by the close of trading.
The increase of 0.13 points, or approximately 1%, indicates a modest rise in the market’s overall valuation during the week.
The PE ratio is a widely used indicator that compares a company’s share price with its earnings per share and is commonly used by investors to assess whether stocks or the broader market are relatively overvalued or undervalued.
