Trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended lower on Sunday, the first trading session of the week, as most listed stocks witnessed price declines. Turnover also fell significantly compared with the previous session.
According to DSE data, the benchmark DSEX index fell 49.28 points to 5,482.
The DSES index declined 10.58 points to 1,089, while the DS-30 index dropped 18.25 points to 2,085.
The DSE recorded turnover of Tk542.98 crore in shares and units on Sunday, down from Tk723.11 crore in the previous trading session.
A total of 385 companies traded on the day. Of them, prices of 66 companies advanced, while 291 declined and 28 remained unchanged.
The broad decline in share prices, coupled with lower turnover, reflected continued selling pressure in the market.
