DSE Sees Spike in Trading on Index Rise

All price indices of the primary capital market, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), ended trading on a positive note on the last working day of the week. 153 companies’ share prices increased on that day, and the total number of transactions in taka surpassed 789 crore taka.

According to DSE sources, on Thursday, July 17, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) main index, known as “DSEX,” increased by 15.58 points, bringing its current standing at 5,132 points. Another DSE index, ‘DSES’, increased by 7.74 points, reaching 1,119 points, while the ‘DS-30′ index rose by 15.89 points, ending at 1,936 points.

The DSE saw trading of shares and units worth 789 crore 68 lakh 1 thousand taka today. In contrast, 734 crore 38 lakh 33 thousand taka was the total value of the transaction on the previous business day.

The shares and units of 396 businesses were traded on the DSE today. Out of the companies that were involved in the transactions, 180 saw a decrease in their prices, while 153 saw a rise. In addition, 63 firms’ share and unit prices stayed constant.
