DSE ends mixed on Wednesday as turnover falls

Trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended mixed on Wednesday, the fourth trading session of the week, with turnover declining despite gains in most listed securities.

The DSE broad index (DSEX) fell 1 point to close at 5,537. The DSES Shariah index gained 1 point to 1,110, while the DS30 index declined 5 points to 2,103.

Of the 387 companies and mutual funds traded, 165 advanced, 150 declined and 72 remained unchanged.

Turnover on the DSE stood at Tk 519.77 crore, down Tk 70.66 crore from the previous session’s Tk 590.43 crore.

Meanwhile, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also ended lower, with its All Share Price Index (CASPI) falling 59 points to 14,868.

A total of 153 securities traded on the CSE. Of them, 55 advanced, 73 declined and 25 remained unchanged. Turnover on the CSE stood at Tk 87.27 crore in shares and units.
