Doreen Power Generation and Systems Ltd., a company listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), has decided to sell all fixed assets of its 22-megawatt power plant in Narsingdi.
The decision comes after the 15-year power purchase agreement between the plant and the Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) expired. BREB has informed the company that it will not renew the contract.
According to the company, continuing commercial operations at the plant is no longer viable. Therefore, the sale of the assets has been planned as part of Doreen Power’s broader business strategy.
