Dhaka Bank PLC has decided to raise Tk 300 crore by issuing a contingent-convertible perpetual bond as Additional Tier-1 (AT1) capital to strengthen its capital base.
According to Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) sources, the bank’s board of directors approved the decision at a meeting held on August 13, 2026.
Under the plan, Dhaka Bank will issue the bond to raise Tk 300 crore in line with Basel III requirements. The bond will qualify as Additional Tier-1 capital in accordance with Bangladesh Bank’s risk-based capital adequacy guidelines.
The move is aimed at strengthening the bank’s capital position and enhancing its capacity to meet regulatory capital requirements.
However, the proposed bond issuance will require approval from the relevant regulatory authorities. Dhaka Bank will be able to proceed with the issuance only after obtaining the necessary approvals.
