Community Bank, BREB Sign Agreement for Rural Electricity Bill Collection

Customers Can Pay Bills at All Community Bank Branches and Sub-Branches

Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. has signed an agreement with the Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB), allowing customers of all Palli Bidyut Samities under BREB to pay their electricity bills through Community Bank’s branches and sub-branches across the country.

The agreement was signed on Tuesday by Mr. Shamsul Haque Sufyani, Managing Director (Current Charge) of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. and Mr. Md. Masud Parvez, Director, Financial Monitoring (Northern Region) of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board, on behalf of their respective organizations.

Under the agreement, customers of all Palli Bidyut Samities under BREB will be able to pay their electricity bills conveniently, securely, and efficiently through Community Bank’s nationwide network of branches and sub-branches.

Among those present from Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board were Ms. Milia Sharmin, Member (Finance) and Joint Secretary; Mr. Md. Idris, Controller (Finance & Accounts); Mr. Sharmin Mahmud, Secretary of the Board; Mr. Md. Zia Uddin, Director (Finance); and Mr. Himel Pal, Director (Finance).

Representing Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. were Dr. Md. Ariful Islam, Head of Corporate Banking & Head of Business (Branch); Mr. Md. Tanjim Morshed Bhuiyan, Chief Information Technology Officer; Mr. Sujat Haque, Unit Head, Corporate Banking Division; Mr. Md. Shariful Islam Kadir, FCA, Chief Financial Officer; Mr. Mamun Ur Rahman, Head of ADC & Head of MD’s Coordination Team; Mr. Tohinul Islam and Mr. Nishit Kanti Sarkar from the Cash Management Team, along with other senior officials from both organizations.
