Coast Guard seizes 403 cans of beer, 172 bottles of foreign liquor in Teknaf

BM Report:

Teknaf: On Thursday, the Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) Station Teknaf seized a significant quantity of illegal alcohol during a special operation near the Naf River.

Acting on intelligence reports suggesting drug smuggling activity in the Baritali area under Teknaf police station, the BCG launched a targeted operation. During their patrol, Coast Guard personnel observed suspicious individuals near the Naf River in Parabons. When signaled to stop, the suspects fled the scene, disappearing into the nearby hills.

A subsequent search of the area led to the discovery of 12 sacks containing 403 cans of Andaman Gold Beer and 172 bottles of Grand Master Whisky. Despite the absence of any suspects at the scene, the seized alcohol was confiscated and handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station for further investigation and legal action.

This operation highlights the Coast Guard’s commitment to combating illegal activities in the Teknaf region. The seizure of this substantial amount of alcohol underlines the need for continued vigilance and proactive efforts to maintain security and prevent smuggling across the Naf River.

This successful operation serves as a testament to the Coast Guard’s dedication to protecting Bangladesh’s borders and ensuring the safety of its citizens.
