CNG filling stations to operate round the clock during Eid holidays

B Mirror Report:  The government has directed all compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations across the country to remain open 24 hours a day during the Eid-ul-Azha period to ensure smooth transportation services and reduce travel disruptions.

The directive was issued on Monday by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division (EMRD) under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.

According to the order, all CNG filling stations will operate without interruption from May 21 to June 2.

Officials said the decision was taken to support increased passenger and vehicle movement ahead of Eid, during the holiday period, and in the days following the festival.

Under the existing regulation, CNG filling stations in Dhaka and other areas usually suspend operations daily from 6:00pm to 11:00pm to maintain gas pressure and ensure balanced supply for residential, industrial and commercial consumers.

The temporary relaxation of the restriction comes in response to higher transport demand during the Eid travel season, the EMRD said.
