City Bank to remain closed for forty-four hours

In order to move the data center, City Bank PLC will temporarily halt all banking operations for forty-four hours. In this regard, the central bank has granted authorization. The Department of Offsite Supervision (DOS) of Bangladesh Bank provided this information in a notification on Wednesday, April 30.

It stated that City Bank PLC’s current data center would be moved. The bank has asked that all banking operations be temporarily halted from 12:00 am on May 9 to 8:00 pm on May 11.

According to Bangladesh Bank, permission has been granted to temporarily close City Bank PLC in light of the application, using the authority granted to it by Section 45 of the Bank Companies Act, 1991.

The managing directors and chief executive officers of every scheduled bank in Bangladesh have received directives from the central bank regarding this matter.
